Feeling stir crazy, keep the family entertained with these indoor activities (Orlando Sentinel)

Florida schools are now closed until at least mid-April due to the coronavirus, and many parents are spending more time at home with their kids.

But as days spent at home stretch into weeks, family members of all ages may find themselves feeling a little bit stir crazy. However, there are a number of ways to keep kids and parents entertained while hunkering down.

Lasheaka Nock, a teacher at Seminole High School, is used to spending summers with three of her children still at home. Her well-developed strategy helps to prevent her high schooler, middle schooler and 6-year-old from feeling bored.

“I call it Camp Mom,” Nock said. “This past summer, we made tie-dye shirts … We do a lot of cooking activities like making popsicles, cupcakes or fruit pizza.”

And those were just the start of her ideas. She said that in the coming weeks, with children and parents staying at home, it’s important to keep some semblance of a normal schedule while also giving kids their choice of activity when it comes to fun time…
