Math note: A consistent 10% daily increase would mean that the statistic being measured would double every week — in other words, if this rate continues, a week from today we will be seeing almost 5,000 U.S. deaths per day.

Context note: At a 10% daily growth rate, we’re only two days away from the daily number of U.S. Covid-19 deaths being greater than the total number of deaths on 9/11.
